Institutional Logo Research
Institute Logos that I have considered include Bauer Media Group and Time Inc. UK. Both of these institutes were highly considered as they have previously and currently created magazines that can be seen to have similar criteria of my magazine as well as producing these magazines in similar target audiences as I intend to have.
Consent Slips
A consent slip was created so that there was sufficient consent of those I wanted to be involved in the photo shoot of my magazine. The consent slip was created in order to ensure that there was full commitment to the task ahead and that due to the people I wanted to join were under age 18, parental and self consent was needed.
Potential Problems
Potential problems of creating the magazine and photo shoots were high. Problems with creating the magazine would include the possibility of losing work on a certain computer/hard drive due to mechanical faults of the computer/hard drive itself or if the work was not sufficiently saved properly. In addition, other problems that may have occurred would include lack of preparation of producing the magazine, the possibility of having inadequate equipment for photo shoots that are essential in producing images of the highest quality.
Furthermore, if these kind of problems did situate, then a Plan B would be taken into action. The Plan B would entail back up tactics such as extra photos taken in advance, a back up of work on a memory stick and also having the work produced in college also available to be created at home or anywhere else to avoid the possibility of losing all work.

Font Samples
Fonts considered for my magazine were based on the influences of other magazines such as NME and Rolling Stone as well as the use of font creating websites such as Dafont.
Fonts that were to be considered had to match certain criteria such as standing out on contents pages and front covers as well as being able to link to the rock genre and be instantly matched to the genre.
Fonts that were considered included:
IRON & BRINE
American Captain
Atlantic Cruise
Belle Epoque
Dyer Arts and Crafts

Colour Samples
Colours that were considered for my magazine included red, blue and black as well as colours that match criteria of a rock genre magazine. Blue was considered as it is a cool and relaxing colour which will also stand out as font colour. Furthermore, the colour red was highly considered due to its connotations linking to a stereotypical rock magazine. Connotations of red include anger, alert and danger, all which can be associated with the rock genre in general.

Time Management
With studying AS Media, my target is to do independent learning outside of the lesson to demonstrate a better understanding of the subject and ahead of my work. I usually spend around an extra 2 to 3 hours a week studying AS Media at home along with 5 hours a week of AS Media at College. With other subjects I study, I also do similar hours of independent work. In this time I also do homework for the subjects and prepare myself for the upcoming lesson.
Photography
The essential specifications of photography in Media are composition, the suitability of the photograph and the importance of pose.
Composition
The composition of a photograph is essential to create and intact the best possible photograph. Framing of the photograph will indicate what the image is from, where it is from and its purpose. Framing is simply using other objects in your photograph to frame the main subject. This is probably one of the easier composition techniques in photography. Framing brings more depth to the picture and a better focus on what the main subject is.
Suitability
The suitability of a photograph is also key to creating a great photo. The photo must have a specific purpose to its topic and link well to for say an article it is to be used in. If the photo lacks relevance, it will considered inappropriate or useless.
Importance of Pose
Posing subjects can often be one of the most challenging aspects of portrait photography. Great posing can add emotion to a photo and add illusion and mystery to photos. Pose will also show indications of the photograph and what its purpose is.
